There’s a song by Chandler Moore titled “He understands,”. One of my favorite lines from the lyrics of the song are, “I have a friend, He understands” and, “He has felt it all.” From all the things I have been through in my life, I have learned that I have a friend who is always with me, He never leaves me and He understands me. He understands the battles I face, the challenges I have, and also everything I might be struggling with or trying to break free from.
This friend is Jesus Christ, a friend like no other. He’s felt all the pain I might be facing today. He has struggled more when paying the price for my sins. What I love about my friend is that He doesn’t judge me, He accepts me as I am and helps me become a better person. In the book of Isaiah 53:3-5, the Bible tells us about how He suffered for us, how people thought God was punishing Him but it was all for our transgressions. Who on this earth would do that for you? Like literally who? I know I wouldn’t die for anyone, I don’t want to lie, as humans we can be self-consumed, But this friend is selfless, loving, caring, and welcoming.
Above all, He’s our savior, all of us including you! He’s the key to everlasting life. In the new testament, the Bible constantly tells us about how Jesus Christ is the key to everlasting life and how we can have a relationship with God our Father through Him. In John 10:27-28, Jesus talks about how He gives eternal life to those that follow Him. What I love about Jesus is that He will never reject you because of your past, but He will accept you with it. He has chosen us before we were even formed in our mother’s wombs. He understands everything we go through as youth. He understands the peer pressure, anxiety, depression, family troubles that weigh us down, unemployment, etc., and then He says, “I am the good Shephard, follow me and I will give you eternal life.” He continues to say in the book of Matthew 11:28-30; “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Isn’t this amazing? I know it is! When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and savior we form a relationship with Him. He does not only become our friend like I’ve been referring to Him, He also becomes our blood brother as God becomes our father. Accepting Jesus Christ comes as a full package, you get a friend in Him, a brother and a savior, you get a father in God Almighty, and a comforter Holy Spirit. It doesn’t end there, there is a lot more that comes with the trinity of heaven. There’s nothing like having a relationship with Jesus Christ. I’m not saying you won’t face challenges, I’m saying it will be different now because you’re not fighting alone. You’ll have God Almighty, your heavenly father providing for you, Jesus Christ saving you and being a friend, and last but certainly not least, Holy Spirit helps and comfort you through it all. You are never alone, which makes everything a different story, one of victory.
I just want to leave you with one thing today; accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior will be the best decision you have ever made if you haven’t done it yet. You can accept Jesus Christ with a simple prayer, which goes; “Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner and I choose to accept your salvation today. Come into my heart and make it your dwelling place. I surrender all to you today. I am yours, Lord. Amen 🙏 .” With this simple prayer, you’ll be allowing Jesus Christ to finish the good work He has begun in your life ever since you were born. You will be allowing Him to take total control of your life and lead you to your God-given purpose because you were created for a purpose hence Jeremiah 29:11.
It’s amazing how this is a testimony of an 18-year-old young lady named Harhi Maswangani, which shows that salvation is not only for old people but it’s for everyone. I was watching a video on Facebook of a 4-year-old baby who was deep in worship during a worship session at church. That proved that God touches anyone and everyone. Once you feel His touch you surely will never be the same again.
As we end the youth month today, my prayer is that may the good Lord touch you and make you whole, may He reveal Himself to you and reveal His purpose over your life so that you will start living in purpose and becoming the best that you were made to be.
Thank you so so much for reading and a very huge thank you to Harhi for sharing her testimony with us. May the good Lord keep you baby girl and open many huge and amazing doors for, may He do what only He can in your life, Thank you!
